Oregon lawmakers must act swiftly to protect our public services by decoupling the state tax code from federal changes enacted in the so-called One Big Beautiful Bill, (“Oregon Democrats weighing whether to cancel state tax cuts linked to federal ones,” Sept. 11). There was no local mandate for an $888 million federal revenue hit that our state neither requested nor can afford. Only one Oregonian, U.S. Rep. Cliff Bentz, voted for the federal bill.
