A recent letter writer and many other Portlanders share the same belief: City councilors were elected to focus on matters vital to Portland, not attempt to get involved with national or international concerns, (“Readers respond: City councilors should work on city priorities,” Dec. 2). If these social justice crusaders keep stumbling along, there will be more than one new face on the Council after the next election cycle.
