Looks like new City Councilor Mitch Green and other Portland officials will be traveling to Austria on the public’s dime to examine that country’s social housing program, (“Portland leaders will travel to Austria for housing junket‚” Aug. 27). Austria has a very successful public housing program, one worthy of study. I’m not sure it actually requires a publicly funded European junket to learn about it - has anybody ever heard of Zoom? But that shouldn’t be our only concern.
