Description

The renaming of César E. Chávez Boulevard is a good example of Portland’s city council wasting valuable time — and potentially very limited dollars — on an issue that doesn’t seem to be a priority for residents. Personally, I’m appalled by the sexual abuse allegations against Chávez. But given the budget constraints that seem to be impacting every city department, do we really need to be arguing and spending money on this name change right now? How much exactly will this cost taxpayers, let alone business owners?
