Description
A recent letter writer thinks that the federal government is hurting consumers by blocking the now dead Kroger-Albertsons merger, (“Readers respond: Blocking grocery merger hurts regular people,” Dec. 18). The merger would have almost certainly led to the closing of dozens - if not hundreds - of grocery stores, since the stores to be shed in the merger were to be sold to a grocery wholesaler with little experience in supermarket retailing.
