Another unnecessary strike is in the headlines, (“Providence officials say they’re ready to resume talks with some striking workers, not all,” Jan. 11) Like virtually every strike, this walkout by Providence health care professionals was avoidable. Strikes occur because the parties do not listen to one another to find common ground. This strike, like others, will be settled - at a cost.
