A whole lot of shakin off the South Oregon Coast, Monday, Sept. 8, as several earthquakes were recorded west of Curry Co. near the outer fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.8-magnitude quake was located west to southwest of Port Orford. It was followed by a 4.9-aftershock and a 3.1-magnitude aftershock. There was also a 2.7-magnitude west of Gold Beach. At the southern end of the two fault line, two more quakes were recorded. A 3.7-magnitude west to southwest of Petrolia, CA and a 2,9-magntidue west of Petrolia, CA, both near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.
