A 4.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the South Oregon Coast, Sunday, Dec. 21. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located near the outer fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, west to northwest of Bandon, and at a depth of six-miles. There were also two other quakes recorded near the southern end of the two fault lines early Saturday, Dec. 20. According to the USGS, a 2.9-magnitude quake was located west to southwest of Petrolia, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. A little further west, west of Ferndale, CA, a 2.6-magnitude quake was also recorded. On Monday, Dec. 22, a 2.9-magnitude quake was recorded west of Petrolia, CA, and a 2.9-magnitude was recorded south of Ferndale, CA, both near the southern junction.
