EUGENE — Oregon has two of the best players in the country in a role it called upon very little last season: punter.

Ross James is a two-year returning starter, who was joined earlier this summer by Boise State transfer James Ferguson-Reynolds, an All-American in 2023. Both seniors, James and Ferguson-Reynolds are competing for a job that the No. 7 Ducks utilized just 3.3 time per game last season, tied for 109th nationally.
