2700 N. Valley View Road in Ashland is for sale by Chris Martin of LandLeader. The curvaceous design is seen in river rock features, railings and the carousel-shaped pool enclosure. The property's 708 acres includes a small rise, known as The Wedding Knoll, where two oak trees form a natural sculpture. Earthen tiles cascade down a series of distinct, rounded roofs that are crowned with small cupolas. Russell Beebe of Phoenix carved salmon, coyotes and eagles into the Brazilian mahogany of the arched, double front doors. The entrance has rounded forms and sculptural appointments in copper, glass, stone, granite, local and exotic wood. Glass was cut in amoeboid shapes to fit between the black walnut railings on the staircases. A low rock wall, used as a planter between the entry corridor and the sunken living room, models the undulating pattern of the river rocks placed at the base of exterior walls. The fireplace has a glass mosaic inlay of two dragons that form a heart. Contouring strips of exotic wood meander on the floor. Rings of oak or cedar clad the round ceilings. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open into a double-headed shower in the primary bathroom. Chris Martin of LandLeader likens the curvaceous design to the Catalan Modernism architecture of Antoni Gaudi. Stone tile creates spiral designs on the terrace. The landscaped pond below is circled with a border of rounded stones, echoing the terrace design and the river rock wall on the first floor. 2700 N. Windows are shaped like clouds or windswept pines. A carousel-shaped, glass gazebo encloses a pool. The 708-acre property as two cliffs and 8,000 feet of frontage along Myer Creek. 2700 N. The price for a highly customized, curvaceous rural Ashland dwelling with flair compared to architect Antoni Gaudi has dropped to $4.5 million.
