Whoahink Lake XC Invitational, Florence – Coming off of a win at the Prefontaine High School Memorial Run a week earlier, Coquille junior Ella Henthorne bagged another win, Saturday, south of Florence in the 5K run (18:31.0). Hosanna Stone led Siuslaw’s girls in 11th (21:29.4), while Marshfield’s Kendall Qualman was right behind in 11th (21:32,2). Gold Beach’s Coco Plaep placed 15th (21:55.9). Philomath won the team score with 23, Cottage Grove second (54), Siuslaw third (86) and Marshfield fourth (96). Siuslaw’s boys won the team race with 23-points, Cottage Grove second (41), Marshfield third (87) and Reedsport sixth (162). The Vikings’ Henry Stone was the winner over the 5K course (16:00.8). Marshfield’s Kaedin Oltman took 11th (18:01.9). Marshfield is at the Glide Invitational, Thursday, Oct. 1. North Bend ran at the Willamette Golden Hour in West Eugene. The Bulldogs’ Lauren Wolfe won the girls’ 5K (20:13.6). Landon Cunningham led the North Bend boys in fourth-place (18:19.6). The Bulldogs next run at the Flight 7, Richardson Park, Saturday, Oct. 3.
