At the Umpqua Invite Cross-Country meet, Wednesday, Oct. 22, Stewart Park, Roseburg, Coquille sophomore Ella Henthorn was second in the varsity 5K race in 18:35.40.  Cricket Phipps, North Eugene, won in 18:18.30.  North Bend’s Ellie Massey was third (19:02.80), and the Bulldogs Addison Horning was fifth (19:16.90).  Bandon’s Jael Legutki was seventh (19:32.70.  North Bend was third in the 15-team score.  Thurston took first-place with 107 pts., followed by Springfield (110) and the Bulldogs (121).  Bandon was sixth (158) and Coquille eighth (192).  In the boy’s 5K varsity race, Bandon’s Beckett Pahls was the top South Coast runner in 14th (16:29.28), North Bend’s Angelo Pedrini was 15th (16:46.89).  Bandon was third in the 22-team score.  Sheldon won with 35-points, followed by South Medford (65), then the Tigers (122).  North Bend was 13th (394).  Brookings-Harbor ran Wednesday a the HDN League Meet at McKinleyville, CA.  Oceana Powers-Schmitz led the Bruins in 24th (26:22.46).  Brookings-Harbor finished fourth in the team score.  In the boy’s race, Patrick Hatch led the Bruin boys in 26th (20:16.02), and the team was fourth.  Thursday, Sandpines Golf Course, Florence, Siuslaw hosted their annual “Run for the Brownies” 3K races.  In the girl’s race:  Ella Cardwell, Cottage Grove won (10-59.35), Adyline Holbrook, Siuslaw (11:30.56) was third.  Siuslaw’s boys, led by sophomore Henry Stone (9:15.15), went 1-2-3-4.
