Marshfield’s cross-country teams ran at the Country Fair Classic, Veneta, Wednesday. Kendall Qualman led the Pirate girls with a 26th place finish (22:47.9) on the 5K course. Philomath won with 42-pts., Marshfield was eighth with 203-pts. Donald Brice led the Marshfield boys placing 42nd (19:28.9). Cottage Grove won the team race with 85-pts. The Pirates were 13th (280-pts.). At the Umpqua Opener, Stewart Park, Roseburg, Bandon’s Jael Legutki won the girl’s race in 19:20.3. Addison Horning, North Bend, was second in 19:29.9. Coquille’s Bryleigh Mead was 14th (24:26.5). North Medford won the team race with 28-pts. North Bend was second (51 pts.) and Coquille third (53 pts.). In the boy’s race, Bandon’s Beckett Pahls won in 16:12.3. North Bend’s Angelo Pedrini was second (17:10.4). North Medford won the team race with 37-pts. Bandon was second with 42-pts.

Catlin Gabel (2-0-1) leads the 3A Poll, Stayton (1-0) the 4A with Seaside (1-0-1) and Tillamook/Neah-Kah-Nie (0-2) tied for 10th. Summit (2-0-1) tops the 5A and Lakeridge (2-0) the 6A. In the girl’s polls, Catlin Gabel (4-0) in No. 1 in the 3A/2A/1A. Marist Catholic (2-0) tops the 4A. Bend (1-0) the 5A, and Jesuit (2-0) the 6A.
