Prep VB Polls

Marshfield sits on top of this week’s OSAA/Coaches prep 4A volleyball poll. The Lady Pirates (15-2) are closely followed by three fellow Sky-Em League teams with Marist Catholic (14-2) at No. 2, North Bend (10-6) at No. 4 and, Cottage Grove (9-6) at No. 9. The 3A & 4A OSAA State Volleyball Championships will be held in the Bay Area, Nov. 8th & 9th with the 4A schools at North Bend and the 3A schools at Marshfield. Unbeaten Pleasant Hill (22-0) leads the 3A list as the top-ranked team, followed by Beaverton’s Valley Catholic (18-3), and Corvallis area Santiam Christian (15-2) No. 3, Dayton (16-1) is No. 4, and Westside Christian (17-3) No. 5. Prep volleyball scores from Monday, Oct. 14: 2A – Reedsport beat visiting Illinois Valley, 3-0. 1A – North Douglas won at Pacific, 3-0. Boys’ soccer scores: Central Linn and Siuslaw tied 2-2 at Florence. Pacific/Bandon downed visiting Douglas, 5-1.

At the midway point of the 2024 prep cross-country season in Oregon, this week’s OSAA/Coach’s 4A Boys’ Poll shows Newport ranked No. 1, followed by The Dalles, Philomath, Cottage Grove and Molalla. Banks and Siuslaw are tied at No. 1 in the 3A Poll, followed by Valley Catholic at No. 3, Oregon Episcopal and Enterprise. In the 2A/1A Poll, Knappa is No. 1, Bandon is No. 4. In the girl’s polls, Philomath is No. 1 in the 4A, followed by Klamath Union and Junction City. Cottage Grove is No. 6. In the 3A/2A/1A, Oregon Episcopal is No. 1, Enterprise/Joseph/Wallowa No. 2 and Siuslaw No. 3. Coquille is No. 7.
