Central Coast – SD3: Taft got a forfeit from Sheridan, 7-0. 2A/1A – SD4: Myrtle Pt./Pacific beat visiting Bandon, 9-3. Toledo downed visiting Waldport, 11-5. North Coast – SD1: Clatskanie won at Knappa, 7-1. Nestucca fell at Portland Christian, 11-0.

Prep tr Sky-Em

Both Marshfield and North Bend participated in a Sky-Em League JV meet at Junction City Tuesday. Individual girls: MHS freshman Zulay Arbarca won both the 800 (2:52.58) & 1500 (6:09.28). North Bend frosh Zoya Wilson took both the Shot Put (21-5) & Discus (84-6). On the boy’s side, Marshfield frosh Nicoya Pruess won the 400 (54.29). Frosh Zakkary Cox won the 3000 (11:31.43) and Pole Vault (9-0). And, classmate Christian Baugh took the 300IH (47.12). The Pirate 4X400 Relay team of Jackson Dalton, Luc Frey, Josiah Flores & Pruess won the in 3:57.93. Pirates head to the 75th Annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational Saturday in Southern Oregon. North Bend to the Marist Track Classic at Eugene.

Prep TR Coquille

Coquille’s track team hosted its Red Devil Senior Night Tuesday. Five teams participated with Coquille taking the girl’s team portion with 153-points to Gold Beach’s 67, Mrytle Pt. 47, Powers 24 & Bandon 13. Myrtle Pt. won the boy’s part with 105-pts., followed by Coquille with 91, Gold Beach 51, Powers 34 & Bandon 12. Individually for the girls: Gold Beach’s Eva Mordja won both hurdle races 100H (18.56) & 300H (55.23). Coquille’s Holli Vigue won the Discus (130-1) and was second to Powers’ Danika Bushnell (117-7 to 101-4) in the Javelin. Coquille’s Ada Millet took the 100 (13.73) & the Pole Vault (9-0). And, the Red Devils Olivia Brophy won the Long Jump (15-9) & High Jump (4-6). On the boy’s side: Myrtle Point’s Thomas Ferren blazed to wins in the 100 (11.12) & 200 (22.63). Teammate Eli Nicolson won three events, the 800 (2:19.50) the 1500 (4:50.51), and the 300IH (55.52). Coquille’s Jerico Jones won both the Shot Put (42-7) & the Discus (127-1.25). Coquille heads to the Grants Pass/Rotary Invitational on Saturday.
