The Wally Ciochetti Invitational Track & Field Meet is Friday, May 15, at Cottage Grove. Teams participating include: Marshfield, North Bend, Bandon, Coquille, Siuslaw, & eleven other teams. Toledo has its Twilight Meet, Friday, May 15. Competing will be Junction City, Newport, Tillamook and Waldport. In other meets this week, at the Pat & Joan Towne Invitational on the new refurbished track at Myrtle Crest in Myrtle Pt., Danika Bushnell, Powers, set a new state 1A best in the Gilr’s Javelin (138-2). At the 3A Coastal Range Lg. Meet, Sophie Schoolmeester, Banks, set a new best in the Girl’s 1500 (4:27.53). The Banks 4X400 Girls Relay team also ran a 3A best (4:05.80).
