Both North Bend and Marshfield boys’ volleyball teams fell in their final regular season matches Tuesday at North Bend. Philomath and Newport both beat Marshfield 3-0, while the Warriors and Cubs did the same to North Bend, 3-0 & 3-0.

Boys District GF

Prep boys’ Special District 3 Golf Championships at the Running Y, Klamath Falls. North Bend’s Owen Bascom was the medalist over the two-day tournament. The Bulldog senior shot 76-73 for first place. Teammate Dashul Gordon was second (83-74), Marshfield’s Enoch Niblett, third (87-73) and teammate Lucas Hyatt fourth (80-85) and Kody Chandler fifth (83-87). Rest of the Pirate scoring: Mason Aurdahl (86-86) and Aiden Griffin (81-96). Rest of North Bend: Behr Gordon (82-89), Rhyder Thornburg (99-88), and Easton Ford (112-107). Bandon’s boys won the 3A/2A/1A SD3 Tourney at Bandon Crossings. The Tigers Sevren Quinn was medalist (69-71). Lucas Vanderlip, Brookings-Harbor, was third (74-70). Rest of Bandon’s team: Peyton Simonds (76-70) for fourth; Braedon Millhouser (82-76), fifth; Jackson Simnonds (89-75) ninth; and, Trask Wehner (85-94), 12th.

Girls District GF

North Bend and Marshfield’s girls’ golf teams both qualified for State after going one-two at the 4A/3A/2A/1A Girl’s District Gold Tournament at Sandpines, Florence. Marshfield’s Analise McCord was the medalist (93-85), and teammate Shay Herzog was second (93-93). Addyson Garrett, North Bend, took third (94-95), and the Bulldogs Jordyn Prince was fourth (89-103), followed by Emily Heaton (94-100) and Benelli Gordon (98-102, ninth. Rest of the Lady Pirates: Annika Bones sixth (101-95 & Analiya Nunez 28th (134-136).

Prep softball scores from Tuesday, May 13: 4A – Sky-Em Lg.: Marshfield fell at Marist Catholic, 18-12. North Bend lost at Junction City, 14-4. North Coast, Cowapa Lg.: Astoria won at Scappoose, 5-4. St. Helens beat visiting Seaside, 9-1. 3A – Far West Lg.: Visiting Sutherlin beat Coquille, 10-6. Glide won at Siuslaw, 15-5. North Coast, SD1: Banks beat visiting Warrenton, 6-3. 2A/1A – SD4: Waldport won at Bandon, 23-6. Powers won at Reedsport, 15-5. North Coast – SD1: Knappa won at Nestucca, 6-1.
