Henley’s boys (81) and Grants Pass’ girls (112) won the 75th annual Grants Pass Rotary Track Invitational in Southern Oregon Saturday. Marshfield’s boys were fifth (51.5) in the field of 23. Bandon’s girls (44) were sixth in the field of 25. Coquille’s girls (36.5) placed seventh, with Marshfield (3) 21st. Individually for the boys: Marshfield senior Bodey Lutes captured the open 400 (47.87, top time in 4A & the State overall). Pirate sophomore Carter McGriff tied for fifth in the 100 (11.25). Sophomore Jake Day was sixth in the 200 (22,89) & 400 (51.45). Junior Jaxson Stovall was third in the 3000 (8:56.87). Marshfield’s 4X100 Relay team (Hadyn Widdicombe, Bodey Lutes, Jake Day, Carter McGriff) was second to Eagle Point, (42.33 to 42.83 top time in 4A). The Pirates 4X400 Relay team (Carter McGriff, Quinton Kloster, Chadler Wyatt, Bodey Lutes) was second to Roseburg (3:22.25 to 3:26.25). In the Pole Vault, Quinton Kloster cleared 14-0, but lost in a jump off for first place with vaulters from Eagle Point & North Medford. For the Marshfield girls: Freshman Jordyn Mickelson was sixth in the 100 (12.68). Bandon’s Makenna Vierck was third in the event (12.49 top time in 2A), and the Tigers Marley Petrey took fifth (12.76). Vierck won the 200 (25.89 top time in 2A). Mickelson was ninth (27.72). Coquille frosh Ella Henthorn won the Frosh/Soph 3000 (10:44.17). Bandon’s Petrey won the 300H (44.42 top time in 2A). Coquille’s Holli Vigue was third in the Shot Put (36-7.25), but she also won the Discus (137-1.5 top mark in 3A). Bandon’s Caitlyn Michalek won the Javelin (132-2). The Lady Devils Ada Millet tied for third in the Pole Vault (9-0). Coquille’s Emelia Wirebaugh was second in the Triple Jump (35-4.5). Marshfield, Coquille and Bandon will all go to the Wally Ciochetti Invitational, Friday, May 16th, Cottage Grove.

Siuslaw’s boys and Sisters’ girls both won the Marist Track Classic Saturday at Eugene. The Viking boys tallied 137-pionts to Marist’s 116. North Bend was ninth (28) in the 12-team competition. The Outlaws won the girl’s meet with 81.5-points. Siuslaw was second with 76.33. North Bend took fifth (69.5). Individually for the boys: Raymundo Brito Xilot was second for Siuslaw in the 200 (22.86). The Vikings’ Wesley Nicholls was third in the 400 (51.76). Two freshmen went second and third for Siuslaw in the 1500. Bentley Nelson was second (4:22.55) & Ezra King third (4:22.72). The Vikings Clayton Wilson won the 3000 (8:28.89 Tops in 3A). Siuslaw’s Maximus Reynolds was second in the Shot Put, (56-7.25), Caleb Gray second in the Javelin (156-11). North Bend’s Miles Baxter PRed in the High Jump (6-8.25 Tops in 4A). The Bulldog senior also won the Long Jump (21-10), with Siuslaw’s Will Johnson second (20-10) & Michael Felkins third (20-05). The Vikings also went 2-3 in the Pole Vault with Will Johnson second (13-0) & Justin Allen third (13-0). Johnson won the Triple Jump for Siuslaw (44-4), with teammates Justin Allen third (38-10.5) & Davian Frazier fourth (38-9.5). Individually for the girls: North Bend’s Ellie Massey was second in the 1500 (4:46.82). Siuslaw’s Maya Wells was third (5:02.49). Massey was second in the 3000 (10:56.55), while the Lady Viks’ Alison Hughes was third (11:0’9.41). Siuslaw’s Aidell Cadet was second in the 100H (16.56), and second in the Triple Jump (32-10.5). North Bend’s Drew Hood won the Javelin (109-4), was third (32-4.5) in the Triple Jump and fourth in the 100H (16.84). The Bulldog’s Kaylianna Mazzucchi placed third (101-11) in the Javelin. The Lady Viks Danin Lacouture won the Shot Put (35-7.25), North Bend’s Mazzucchi & Zoya Wilson were third (32-6) & fourth (32-2). The Bulldogs’ Eva Jensen won the Discus (113-10) with Siuslaw’s Lacouture third (99-3). North Bend and Siuslaw head to the Wally Ciochetti Invitational Friday, May 16th, at Cottage Grove.

Non-league: Marshfield dropped two games to Banks, 20-2 & 7-3 at Eugene. North Coast – Cowapa Lg.: Tillamook fell at Scappoose, 16-5 (5), Astoria beat visiting Seaside, 11-1 (5). 3A – Far West Lg.: Coquille split at Siuslaw. Vikings won the opener, 11-3, Lady Devils the second game, 18-11. SOC: Lakeview beat Brookings-Harbor, 12-3 at Rogue River. Central Coast - SD3: Taft fell at Yamhill-Carlton, 17-0. 2A/1A – SD: Reedsport beat visiting Waldport, 11-1. Visiting Myrtle Pt. fell at Powers, 10-0. North Coast – non-league: Nestucca won at Central Linn, 18-15. Saturday, 2A/1A – Powers fell at North Douglas, 10-0.
