Marshfield Upbeats Dress Rehearsal

The Marshfield Dance Team, The Upbeats, will hold a dress rehearsal of their State Tournament routines Tuesday, March 18, 6:15 p.m., Pirate Palace, on the MHS Campus, Coos Bay. The event is free and the Upbeats will perform their two State Routines.

Prep SB/BB Results

Lots of cancellations due to wet fields for the opening prep softball and baseball games of the 2025 season, Monday, March 17. In softball, Oakridge won at Waldport, 17-13 (6) in the 2A/1A classification. Bandon’s Jamboree was cancelled. In prep baseball: 4A – Newport beat visiting Tillamook, 12-0 (5). Taft beat visiting Marshfield, 6-0, at Lincoln City. 2A – Oakland at Bandon, cancelled and Reedsport at Camas Valley, cancelled.

The OSAA Spring Sports Season is underway for the 4A Bay Area teams. Marshfield baseball got started Monday up the Coast at Lincoln City against Taft. Tuesday, March 18, it’s Lady Pirate softball at home with Elmira/Mapleton, Coos Head Field, Coos Bay, 4:30p; North Bend @ Hidden Valley/New Hope Christian, 2p & 4p, U.S. Cellular Fields, Medford. 3A – Pleasant Hill @ Siuslaw, 4:30p; Brookings-Harbor @ Coquille, 4p. 2A/1A – Toledo at Nestucca, 4:15p; Oakland @ Reedsport, 4:30p; Myrtle Pt. @ Illinois Valley, 4p.

Rain could be the winner today for the prep baseball teams trying to open the 2025 season. Both Bay Area 4A teams are scheduled to play. North Bend at Hidden Valley/New Hope, south of Grants Pass (2p & 4p), and Marshfield at home in Coos Bay to Elmira/Mapleton, 4:30p. 3A teams: Pleasant Hill at Siuslaw, 4:30p; Brookings-Harbor @ Coquille, 4p. 2A/1A teams – Toledo @ Nestucca, 4:15p; Oakland @ Reedsport, 4:30p; Myrtle Pt. @ Illinois Valley, 4p.
