The OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union State 3A & 4A Volleyball Tournaments open this morning at both Marshfield and North Bend high schools. The 9 a.m. start at NBHS features in the 4A, No. 1 Marshfield vs. Cascade, while at Marshfield’s Pirate Palace, it’s the 3A schools and No. 1 Pleasant Hill, with only one loss on the year to Westside Christian, opening against Westside Christian, also at 9 a.m. Matches will continue throughout the day with Championship semi-finals tonight, 6 p.m., followed by “trophy Saturday”.

The OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union State Cross Country Championships for all divisions is Saturday, Nov. 9th, at Lane Community College at Eugene. North Bend has two runners competing in the 4A girl’s championship, freshman Addison Horning and junior Ellie Massey. Marshfield has one runner, junior Jaxson Stovall.

The OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union State Football Playoffs begin tonight with Round 1. Quarter-finals are set for Nov. 15-16 and the championships Nov. 30. In the 3A, No. 1 Siuslaw/Mapleton hosts Dayton, 7p. No. 15 seed Coquille is at No. 2 seed Banks, Saturday, 1p. In the 2A, No. 16 Waldport is at No. 1 Heppner, Saturday, 1 p.m. No. 10 Enterprise at No. 7 Myrtle Pt./Pacific, 7p. In 1A (6), No. 1 Powers has a bye and will play the winner of Saturday’s Triangle Lake at Joseph game.
