Indians win the opener, 6-3, Spartans the nightcap, 4-1. Estacada won at Astoria, 15-4. 3A – Taft won at Willamina, 20-0 (5). Brookings-Harbor beat Nestucca, 16-3, at Taft, Lincoln City (5). Siuslaw’s boys blazed to four 3A state leading bests at the Oregon Relays Friday & Saturday, Hayward Field, Eugene. Viking senior Wesley Nicholls ran to a 22.64 200-meter time, while also running legs on the Viks top 400-meter relay team, (43.98) & top 1600-meter relay team (3:29.92). Junior Kale Jensen also jumped to a 3A leading 6-02 in the High Jump. In the girl’s competition at the Oregon Relays, Coquille senior Holli Vigue became the 3A state leader in the Shot Put (38-8.5) & the Discus (130-06). Taft senior Sienna Lillebo made a 3A state leading leap of 16-06 in the Long Jump.
