All-State Honors

Marshfield junior Morgan Ainsworth was named to the All-State Second Team for girls’ basketball following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. Ainsworth help lead the Lady Pirates to the Sky-Em League championship. Marshfield senior Steel Carpenter was named to the boy’s All State First Team. The Pirates also had senior Luke Jackson named Honorable Mention. The two helped lead Marshfield to the Sky-Em League championship and second in state to Baker.

North Bend’s track teams will host the North Bend Open, Wednesday, April 2, Stevenson Track, Vic Adams Field, North Bend. Field events begin at 3:30 p.m.

Prep softball scores from Tuesday, April 1: 4A – North Bend swept two from visiting Sutherlin, 14-4 & 12-4. Astoria beat Banks 6-2. Newport downed visiting Siuslaw, 7-6. Seaside lost to Bourgade Catholic (AZ), 10-0. 2A/1A – Reedsport won at Eddyville Charter, 22-0.

Junction City is on top in this week’s OSAA/Coaches 4A Baseball Poll. The Tigers are followed by Marist Catholic and Newport. Tillamook shows up as No. 7 and North Bend at No. 9. Blanchet Catholic, of Salem, leads the 3A ranks, with Warrenton second and Taft third. Brookings-Harbor was among the others receiving significant votes. Umpqua Valley Christian leads the 2A/1A poll with Knappa No. 4, Myrtle Pt./Pacific tied for fifth and Toledo & Reedsport among those receiving significant votes.
