Prep softball scores from Friday, April 17 – 4A: Non-league – North Bend sweeps visiting Hidden Valley, 15-1 (5) & 20-5 (3). At the East-West Mini Tournament, The Dalles, Marshfield lost to Baker/Powder Valley, 23-2 (5). Also at the tournament: Junction City lost to Baker/Powder Valley, 12-0 (5). Junction City beat Gladstone, 16-8. Other games: Cottage Grove split at North Marion, Huskies win opener, 8-5, Lions took the nightcap, 13-4. Stayton lost at Marist Catholic, 13-8. 3A: Far West Lg. – Coquille lost at Douglas, 16-1 (3) & 29-3 (3). Siuslaw fell twice at So. Umpqua, 15-0 (3) & 15-0 (3). Southern OR League – Brookings-Harbor swept at Rogue River, 18-3 & 20-10. Special District 1 – Warrenton won at Rainier, 15-0. 2A/1A: SD4 – Powers won at Waldport, 12-2. At the Roseburg Twilight Invitational, Saturday, Marshfield senior Jaxson Stovall ran 4A State Bests in the 800 (1:58.13) and the 1,500 (4:01.97). He also holds the 4A State Best in the 3000 (8:48.96). Grants Pass swept the boys (121) & girl’s (99) team scores. Marshfield’s boys (49) were fifth, Siuslaw (43) seventh, Bandon (36) eighth, and North Bend 19th (1). Bandon’s girls (75) were second to GP. Siuslaw (49) was fifth, followed by Marshfield (38) and North Bend (22) 14th. Siuslaw’s Danin Lacouture got the 3A State Best in the girl’s Shot Put (37-0) at Roseburg. Bandon’s Marley Petrey ran a 2A State Best in the 100 (12.44) and 300H (44.28). The Tiger 4X100 Relay Team (Giada Moore, Claire Briggs, Brooke Messer & Petrey also ran a 2A State Best (50.30). Individual winners: Thomas Morgan, Siuslaw, 100 (11:10). Addison Horning, NB, 3000 (10:58.37). Henry Stone, Siuslaw, 3000 (8:50.50). Caitlyn Michalek, Bandon, Javelin (126-9). Aidell Cadet, Siuslaw, High Jump, (5-0) & Triple Jump (35-0). Noah Brown, Bandon, Pole Vault (13-6). North Bend is at Marshfield, Tuesday, April 21, in a SkyEm League Dual Meet. Field events begin at 4p.
