Millicoma XC Run

The prep cross-country season got underway Thursday in Coos Bay as Marshfield hosted the Millicoma Icebreaker. Two distances, 3K & 5K. In the girl’s 3K, Jael Legutki won (11:25.00), with Coco Plaep, Gold Beach (12:52.00) second. Bandon’s Beckett Pahls (9:43) led three Tigers across the line in the boy’s 3K. In the girl’s 5K race, Coquille’s Ella Henthorn (19:11.00) was the winner, Marshfield’s Donald Brice won the boy’s race (19:32). Marshfield has the Sunset Bay Trail Race Fund-raiser, Saturday, Aug. 29.

North Bend XC

North Bend’s Cross-Country teams open the 2026 Fall Season at the Riverhawk 5K Track Grand Opening, Umpqua Community College at Winchester, Saturday, Aug. 29, just north of Roseburg.

OSAA VB Polls

The first prep volleyball poll has been released by the OSAA for the Fall 2026 Season. In the 4A, Marist Catholic is No. 1, Valley Catholic No. 2, Marshfield is No. 6 and Astoria No. 8. Dayton leads the 3A Poll. Westside Christian is No. 2, Coquille is No. 10. Crosshill Christian tops the 2A Poll, Myrtle Pt. is No 10. The 5A Poll is topped by Bend and the 6A Poll has Jesuit No. 1.

OSAA 2A & 1A FB Polls

Lost River tops the 2A prep football poll by the OSAA. Myrtle Pt. is No. 6 and Bandon No. 7. Knappa is No. 10. Adrian tops the 1A-8 Poll, Camas Valley is No. 10.

OSAA Prep Cross Country Polls

La Grande tops the 4A boys’ first cross country poll. Cottage Grove is No. 4, Newport is No. 5, Tillamook No. 9 and Marist Catholic No. 10. Siuslaw leads the 3A Poll, Neah-Kah-Nie is No. 2. Union tops the 2A/1A Poll, Knappa is No. 2, and Bandon No. 3. Craters leads the 5A Poll, and Lincoln is No. 1 in the 6A Poll. In the girl’s polls, Klamath Union tops the 4A, Cottage Grove is No. 6, North Bend No. 8. Oregon Episcopal is No. 1 in the 3A, Siuslaw No. 2, and Coquille No. 9. Union tops the 2A/1A Poll, while Bandon is No. 2 and Knappa tied for No. 9. Crater leads the 5A Poll and Jesuit is tops in the 6A.

High School Officials

As more boys & girls turn out for their high school sports teams, the call for more officials always follows. That’s the situation along the Oregon Coast. Top to bottom, the need for Prep Officials in all sports is great. This coming Fall, the beginning of the new school year, there will be football games, volleyball matches, soccer matches and cross-country runs. All need officials. There is no age limit, just a heart to give back to your prep sports community. Best part, you’ll have a view of the unfolding action right before your eyes and get paid as well!
