Prep football scores from Friday, Sept. 18 – 4A: SD3: Marshfield gets a long punt return late, a score follows and went for two, which was a completed pass and the first Pirate lead in the game late in the fourth. Marshfield held on over visiting So. Umpqua for a league win, 8-7. Joining the Pirates at the top is Sweet Home who crushed visiting Junction City, 42-7. Marist Catholic had a bye and ran into the Cascade Christian juggernaut from Medford. Spartans lost at 67-28. Other coastal teams – SD1: Tillamook has a problem, they shutdown last week and forfeited the game to Scappoose, 1-0. Banks rolled visiting Woodburn, 48-0 and Taft fell at Seaside, 28-7. 3A: Non-league: Brookings-Harbor won at St. Mary’s, Medford, 36-23. Other coastal teams: SD2: Kennedy whooped up at Newport, 42-0. SD1: Warrenton downed visiting Santiam Christian, 16-7. 2A: Non-league: Glide won at Waldport, 32-24. Myrtle Pt. lost at Toledo, 42-26. Bandon lost at Bonanza, 12-10. SD1: Neah-Kah-Nie fell at Rainier, 36-34, Clatskanie won at Nestucca, 42-26. Knappa won at Corbett, 35-7. 1A8: Reedsport lost at Prospect Charter, 52-18. 1A6: Days Ck. won at Powers, 31-27.
