Prep FB Polls

Unbeaten Marshfield jumps into the OSAA/Coach’s 4A Prep Football Poll for the first time this season. The Pirates (2-0) are ranked No. 7 behind top-ranked Cascade (2-0), Scappoose (2-0), Tillamook (2-0), Henley (0-0), Marist Catholic (0-2), and Stayton (2-0. In the 3A Poll – Burns (2-0) is ranked No. 1, followed by Banks (2-0). Cascade Christian (2-0) is No. 3, Vale (1-1) No. 4, North Valley (1-0) No. 5 and tied for No. 6 is Dayon (1-0) & Siuslaw (0-1). Lincoln City’s Taft HS (1-0) is No. 8.

Prep VB

Marshfield’s volleyball team went on the road to Pleasant Hill Wednesday to play the 3A Billies. Pleasant Hill finished third at the OSAA 3A Tournament last season at Marshfield after being ranked No. 1 all season. The Lady Pirates beat them in three-straight (3-0). Marshfield’s (2-5) next match is against another 3A team, at Creswell, Sept. 16.
