Third-ranked Marshfield suffered defeat for the first-time this Prep Football season at fourth-ranked Henley’s Homecoming, 21-6, Friday night, in the Klamath Basin of Southern Oregon. Fourteenth-ranked North Bend won its Homecoming over visiting Hidden Valley, 20-12. There is one more league week remaining in the 4A Special District League-4. Henley now has the inside leg for the league championship and the Pirates are tied with North Bend for second-place. Marshfield (3-1, 7-1) will play at its Bay Area Rival, North Bend (3-1, 4-4), and Henley (4-0, 5-2) is at Klamath Falls rival Mazama (0-4, 1-7), next Friday night, Oct. 31st. On the North Coast – SD1: Scappoose won at Astoria, 33-7. Tillamook won at Gladstone/Riverdale, 42-6. St. Helens lost at Seaside, 55-7. Second-ranked Scappoose (4-0, 7-1) has the inside track to the league title with a final game at Gladstone/Riverdale (0-4, 0-6). No. 5 Tillamook (3-1, 6-2) and No 13 Seaside (3-1, 4-4) are tied for second and will meet at Seaside in the regular season finale. In the 3A Classification – SD4: Siuslaw beat visiting Brookings-Harbor, 48-10. Sutherlin won at Coquille, 44-42. Douglas beat visiting So. Umpqua, 27-0. Fifth-ranked Siuslaw (4-0, 6-2) is in first place, followed by 12th ranked Douglas (3-1, 4-4), 15th ranked Sutherlin (2-2, 5-3), and 18th ranked Coquille (2-2, 4-4). So. Umpqua (1-3, 4-4) is fifth and Brookings-Harbor (0-4, 2-6) is sixth. The final week of league has Coquille at Siuslaw. Douglas at Brookings-Harbor and Sutherlin at So. Umpqua. Central Coast – SD2: Newport lost at Taft (Lincoln City), 67-7. With one week remaining in the regular season, Dayton (6-0, 8-0) is in first-place. Taft (5-1, 6-2) is tied with Santiam Christian (5-1, 6-2) for second. Scio (2-4, 3-5) and Amity (2-4, 3-5) are tied for fourth. Newport (1-5, 1-7) is in seventh. Taft and Santiam Christian, will meet Friday, Oct. 31st, Adair Village, to end the regular season. Dayton will host Amity. Newport will be at Salem Academy. In the 2A - SD4: Fifth-ranked Bandon beat visiting 13th ranked Gold Beach, 29-26. Seventh-ranked Myrtle Pt. downed visiting ninth-ranked Oakland, 41-0. Regular season finales: Friday, Oct. 31st: Glide (0-3, 4-3) at Gold Beach (0-3, 4-4). Oakland (2-1, 4-3) at Bandon (3-0, 7-0). Non-league Reedsport at Jewell and Myrtle Pt. (3-1. 6-2) at Gervais (3-3. 5-3). 1A6: SD3: On Saturday, Powers won at Gilchrist, 38-12. Second-ranked Elkton (5-0, 6-1) is in first-place. Seventh-ranked Powers (4-1, 5-3) is second, and 11th ranked Crow (3-2, 5-2) is tied with tenth-ranked North Lake (3-2, 4-3) for third. Powers will end the regular season at Crow, Friday, Oct. 31st.
