Prefontaine Prep 5K Memorial Run

Twenty-eight prep cross-country teams will complete in the annual Prefontaine Memorial 5K run on Saturday, Sept. 19 in Coos Bay. The runners will begin downtown at 4th & Anderson, 9:45 a.m., proceed west on Ocean Blvd. before returning to finish up inside Pete Susick Stadium on Prefontaine Track. Local teams participating include: Marshfield, North Bend, Bandon, Coquille, Myrtle Pt., Gold Beach, Brookings-Harbor, & Reedsport. Two Northern California teams are also running, Arcata and Eureka.

Prefontaine 10K Memorial Run

The 45th Annual Prefontaine Memorial Run will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, on the streets of Coos Bay. The annual event will again offer prize money to the first three finishers in the male and female divisions. The 10K race will begin at 10:05 a.m., Fourth & Anderson, downtown Coos Bay, proceed out Ocean Blvd. and return back to Pete Susick Stadium to finish up on Prefontaine Track. The after-run awards ceremony will begin by 11:30 a.m. inside the stadium.
