A fast-moving winter storm is expected to bring a burst of strong winds to Portland and much of northwestern Oregon on Christmas Eve, Wednesday. High winds and downed trees took out this traffic light along NW Cornell Road and NW 118th Avenue in Northwest Portland, Oregon on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024.

A fast-moving winter storm is expected to bring strong, potentially damaging winds to Portland and much of northwestern Oregon on Wednesday, with the most intense gusts arriving late morning and lasting only a few hours.
