Tuesday's rain should start about mid-morning. Colder rain and possible thunderstorms expected Wednesday. Oregonian file photo.

Although Portland will start Tuesday with dry streets, a major pattern change is on the horizon bringing significant rain/snow to the region overnight and into Wednesday.
