Description

The statue of Abraham Lincoln in the South Park Blocks was one of several monuments toppled in Portland during 2020 social justice demonstrations. It’s set to return next year but the city's plan hasn't gone smoothly.

City of Portland officials have reversed course under pressure from community members and will return the restored Abraham Lincoln statue to the South Park Blocks on an elevated platform — not on a lower pedestal “closer to the public” as the city previously planned.
