Description

Portland Police Chief Bob Day in a video released Friday by the Portland Police Bureau to reassure community members that local police have no role in federal immigration enforcement and don't detain individuals because of their immigration status.

The Portland Police Bureau released two videos Friday aimed at reassuring community members that its officers aren’t engaged in immigration enforcement activities, don’t work with federal authorities to detain undocumented individuals, and won’t ask about community members’ immigration status unless it’s relevant to a crime.
