Melissa Morgan, 46, was stabbed five to six times in the chest Dec. 28, prosecutors allege. The man who allegedly stabbed her, Stanley Polinsky, has been charged with attempted murder. Here she is pictured at OHSU Hospital between two friends who came to visit.

Melissa Morgan believes a visit to the Lucky Lucky Bar in Southeast Portland saved her life.
