Portland looks to close controversial Pearl District overnight-only shelter

A new homeless shelter run by the Salvation Army is opening in Northwest Portland.

The city of Portland plans to close the overnight-only Northrup Shelter in the Pearl District, according to neighborhood association president Todd Zarnitz.
