Description

The move to remove the name comes months after an explosive New York Times investigation detailed accounts from multiple women that Chávez had sexually abused them while at the height of his power leading the United Farm Workers in the 1970s.

Portland city councilors on Tuesday took the first step to fast-track a renaming of César E. Chávez Boulevard amid sexual abuse allegations against the revered union leader.
