Description

Portland’s network of high-crash streets make up 8% of city streets but record 62% of all crashes, according to the city. Officials estimate that banning right turns at red lights in these areas would lower the number of all crash types by 9%, and pedestrian and bicycle crashes by 41%.

Portland will expand existing limits on right-on-red turns along some high-crash streets, furthering the city’s effort to reduce traffic deaths.
