Crime statistics for the area of North Portland near the new Moore Street Shelter show little change from immediately before to immediately after the shelter opened. July 14, 2025

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson’s plan to build at least a dozen new overnight-only homeless shelters in neighborhoods across the city ran into its first organized resistance a few weeks ago when a new city shelter was announced for the Pearl District in Northwest Portland.
