Description

Combined, AFACME Local 189 and the District Council of Trade Unions represent about 1,200 workers, or 16%, of the city’s 7,500-member workforce. Both unions began negotiating new contracts with Portland officials in April.

The city of Portland says it has reached tentative agreements with two public employee unions whose members had threatened to walk off their jobs, averting a pair of potential labor strikes and widespread disruptions to municipal services.
