CB/NB VCB release - Join Oregon and California Sea Grant for a public panel discussion on port development, featuring speakers from the California Humboldt Bay region on Friday, November 14th, from 1pm to 2:30pm at Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) in Coos Bay. The panel will provide an overview of the Humboldt Bay Offshore Wind Heavy Lift Marine Terminal project, including its purpose and scope. Panelists will share insights for navigating the opportunities and challenges of planning for large-scale port development. The discussion will highlight community, Tribal, and environmental considerations from Humboldt’s experience, offering lessons and perspectives that could help participants prepare for future port development in Coos Bay and along the West Coast. Panelists include Sharon Kramer, Aquatic Ecologist, H.T. Harvey & Associates, Ecological Consultants, Rob Holmlund, Director of Development, Humboldt Bay Harbor District, and Heidi Moore-Guynup, Director of Tribal and Government Affairs, Blue Lake Rancheria [Virtual].
