Description

It’s an annual event worldwide.  New Year’s Day Polar Bear Dip.  It’s exactly what it states.  Many individuals brave the weather/conditions, to take that first water dip to kickoff the New Year.  We’re not talking the warm tropical waters, no, that’s where the “Polar Bear” aspect dips in.  Cold water conditions in the Winter months.  Locally, our Polar Bear group hits the waters of Sunset Bay, west of Charleston, at 9 a.m.  While some wear their bathing suits, other are more creative with costumes and themes.  It’s all good, free, and a water truck is normally close by with warm spray for those who participate.  Bring your own towels and flip-flops.
