Description

President Donald Trump on Thursday, Jan. 15 threatened to invoke an 1807 law and deploy troops to quell persistent protests against the federal officers sent to Minneapolis to enforce his administration’s massive immigration crackdown. Pictured are federal immigration officers being confronted by protesters outside Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building on Thursday.

The Pentagon has ordered about 1,500 active-duty soldiers based in Alaska who specialize in operating in arctic conditions to be ready in case of a possible deployment to Minnesota, two defense officials said Sunday.
