Description

This photo shows the overhanging crosswalk sign at East Burnside Street and 148th Avenue. Thompson's suit says the sign wasn't illuminated, as it should have been, when Thompson was struck by a car.

A pedestrian who suffered a broken leg when they were struck by a driver in a Portland crosswalk filed a $1.17 million lawsuit against the city Tuesday, faulting the city for a broken light that they say might have prevented the pre-dawn crash.
