Description
Over this past weekend, members of the Curry County Sheriff's SAR team, spent the weekend doing their annual overnight survival training. Three new members spent the night out in the woods near the SAR camp, making a shelter and having a warming fire. The rest of the experienced SAR team checked on the three new members throughout the night. Training was provided for locating GPS locations and team building. Other training included wilderness medical training put on by both Andy Stubbs and Art Tarin. In all, there was about fifteen SAR members who participated in this training event. SAR coordinator, Sergeant Jared Gray, had organized the training at a remote location between Gold Beach and Port Orford in Curry County. We want to thank all our SAR volunteers and the community members who support us.
