OSU release - SEATTLE, Wash. – Nathalie Lewis scored her first goal as a Beaver as Oregon State women's soccer opened its 2025 campaign with a draw at Washington. With Thursday's result against the Huskies, Oregon State earned a result on the road against a Big Ten opponent for the first time in nearly a decade, a streak that dates to Sept. 9, 2016, when the Beavs defeated Michigan State, 2-1, in overtime. Lewis, who joined the program as a transfer from Washington State last January, finished with a pair of shots, both of which were on goal. Having primarily come off the bench in Pullman, Lewis' 82 minutes played set a career high while the goal was her second as a collegiate athlete. Splitting the Husky centerbacks with a pass and credited with the assist was Carly Carraher, an All-WCC Honorable Mention selection in 2024 who posted three goals and two assists across 17 appearances. Originally from Portland, Ore., Carraher he was one of seven Beavers to play all 90 minutes. Joining Carraher in playing the entire game was Sawyer Service, who made her return to the pitch after missing all last season due to injury. Having last played on Nov. 3, 2023 in a 2-0 win over Oregon, service went exactly 650 days between competitive appearances for the Beavs. Though she made just three in the game, Mya Sanchez had multiple game-deciding saves, deflecting a shot off the woodwork in a one-on-one situation early in the second half before flying through the air to stop a shot from distance in the 79th minute. An All-WCC Honorable Mention selection in 2024, the Turlock, Calif., native was recently named Preseason All-WCC. Lewis, Adele Schwab (74 minutes played, two shots), Emily Ibsen (68 minutes) and Abbi Leonard (90 minutes) all started in their Oregon State debuts, while Avery Pleiman and London Tsuma came off the bench in their collegiate debuts. Oregon State is next in action at home on Sunday, hosting the Weber State Wildcats at Paul Lorenz Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by calling 800-GO-BEAVS (541-737-4455) or visiting beav.es/SoccerTickets.
