OSU release - VICTORIA, British Columbia – The Oregon State men's basketball team finished its trip British Columbia 3-0 with a 92-88 win over University of Victoria Saturday afternoon. The game marked the Beavers' second matchup with the Vikings, having also faced off with UVic on Thursday. Daniel Freitag led the Beavers with 24 points, with 14 of those coming from the free throw stripe. DeShawn Gory finished with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Chris Johnson scored 14 points. Josiah Lake II tallied eight points, despite battling foul trouble through the bulk of the second half. Xavion Staton also recorded eight points. The Beavers scored the first eight points of the game to open up an early lead. OSU led 27-16 after the first quarter of play. Oregon State headed into the break leading 52-41, but the Vikings answered by taking 54-53 edge early in the second half. The Beavers retook the lead 70-68 heading the closing frame. The teams went back-and-forth through most of the fourth quarter, with the Beavers claiming a late four-point victory. Oregon State's schedule for the 2026-27 season will be announced at a later date.
