Sixteen prep volleyball teams are ready to make the trek to the Bay Area for this year’s OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 3A & 4A State Volleyball Tournaments, Nov. 8 & 9.  Tournament officials say the “Red Carpet’ is rolling out to the teams as businesses put welcome signs in their windows as well as on reader boards.  The tournament headquarters is the Mill Hotel, North Bend, while the teams will play at North Bend, 4A schools, and at Marshfield, 3A schools.  Tickets are available on-line at www.osaa.org.  You can buy them individually for yourself, or perhaps pay the way for one of our local youth teams.  Contact the Athletic Departments at NBHS and MHS to find out more information.  The opening match-ups will get both tourneys off to a fast start.  In the 3A, top-ranked Pleasant Hill will open the tournament at Marshfield, Friday, 9 a.m., against the only team to beat them this year in 3A or 4A, Westside Christian out of Tigard.  Over at North Bend, the local team, Marshfield, opens Friday at 9 a.m. against a team they beat earlier this year at home, Cascade.  First round Friday morning-afternoon, then championship semi-finals Friday night.  Trophy matches are set for Saturday at both locations.
