Ballots are sorted and ready to be counted. The U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for Oregon, Washington and other states to count ballots that are postmarked by Election Day but arrive later.

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that states can count ballots that arrive after Election Day, a persistent target of President Donald Trump.
