On Thursday at 9:16 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a cold weather advisory in effect until Friday at 8 a.m. for North Oregon Coast Range, Central Oregon Coast Range, Tualatin Valley, West Hills and Chehalem Mountains, Inner Portland Metro, East Portland Metro, Outer Southeast Portland Metro, West Central Willamette Valley and East Central Willamette Valley.

"Cold apparent (feels-like) temperatures as low as 17 degrees F," describes the weather service. "Coldest apparent (feels-like) temperatures will be experienced in areas exposed to north and easterly winds, or elevations above 700 feet. Areas under persistent cloud cover will have temperatures warmer than forecast. There is around a 50% chance that apparent temperatures will rise above 25 degrees F by 6 a.m."
