Terry Bean (center) and his attorney, Derek Ashton (right), outside Lane County Circuit Court on Thursday, July 16, 2015. The following month, Bean was to be tried under charges of sodomy and sexual abuse, but prosecutors dropped the case after the alleged victim couldn't be found to testify.

The state Supreme Court on Thursday cut a Portland attorney’s 60-day law license suspension in half after reviewing his actions defending a well-known client in a sex abuse case.
