Oregon State Police used to provide these High Throughput Property Crime kits to local police agencies and had trained officers on how to collect swabs of DNA from saliva, blood, bodily fluids, clothing or steering wheels.

Someone pried open a gate at a Bend construction business in the middle of the night in 2023, hurled a rock through a double-paned glass door and punched out the inner pane, leaving a trail of blood. The business owner reported the attempted burglary to local police.
